The drawings and original editions of Hergé reaching record at auctions (up to €764,200 for a cover project of Tintin in America), moves in the literary myth of the art market, weaving a clear correspondence with the last album left unfinished Tintin,Alph-Art.

There is a consistency in it. The master of the clear line was keen on modern art. The triumph of his work on the art market echoes this passion.



Black & White, original colors: Tintin is popular

Rare and fragile, editions in black and white remain the most sought after by collectors. The album is certainly the most legendary "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets," published in 1930, where the character of the hero with the only Snowy is still in training. It remains the only album not to be colorized. His current rating - €18,000 if in good condition- says nothing of the emotion. Must still browse this original edition in coated paper, in a quality ink that has no reprint.

Some titles such as Black Island, which houses the Scottish adventure in black and white is one of the most beautiful contrasting strips, creates a strong interest.



Colorization by Hergé later of the first albums, rearrangements exciting source,makes this publishing adventure as complex than captivating. Reprints rich inspecificities, confidentials prints (Sappho) are sometimes valued more than the OE.

In an efficient market exceptional items, first editions in English Casterman, 1952 **, say "the medallion editions" offer to the connoisseur rare albums.

Grail in the Grail, the quest for status. The original editions of Tintin, near mint condition, can indeed multiply their score.

Investing in an edition of Tintin is an investment in a great vintage. Unaffected by the ravages of time, its value will continue to improve as long as you will be able to choose the right one.
