From 1954 to 1958, Ingo Maurer studied the graphic arts in Munich. He went to work a few years in New York and California before founding his studio Design M in Munich in 1963 and devote himself to the design of light units.

This intent is reflected in the playful and imaginative forms of its streetlights. Metal models F. Cooper, created in the form of a serpent reminiscent of old electrical cables.
The emerging LED technology inspired Ingo Maurer for his model Bellissima Brutta, real bunch of dreamy light.

Technical innovations such as Touch Tronic transformer that allows the ignition, extinction and reduction of light touch, subsequently contributed to the recognition and success of the designer.

In 2010, Ingo Maurer received the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Bulb table lamp was followed by other creations of the company in the most important design museum in the world, the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
