On January the 14th, the auction house Philocale with the assistance of our cabinet d'expertises auctionned books, old masters and modern paintings, furniture and objets d'art. The majority of the lots was sold in their estimation, but there were some noticeable surprises.
Back on the most significant results of this sale.
8200 euros against an estimate of 1 500 to 2 000 euros crowned the lot 30, described as a French school of the seventeenth century after Simon Vouet. "Tarquin and Lucretia", oil on canvas that is distinguished by its large size 190 cm high by 158 cm wide. Note also the average state of conservation of this painting that included accidents and restorations. A price deserved by this very decorative painting.
In modern paintingslet us stop us on the 5500 euros offered for Lot 50, a watercolor signed Cabianca Vicenzo (1827 1902) and dated 1868 representing "Fishermen in the strike." A bid in the estimate for this artist collected by many amateurs.
In the works of art retain several bids. Lot 176, a tobacco box grater carved an allegory of loyalty executed circa 1730-1740 found a buyer at 1400 euros on an estimate of 900 to 1200 euros. Note a lack and some wear.

Lot 210 was sold for 2900 euros on an estimate of 1 200 to 1500 Euros. Described as a demi-lune commode opening by two drawers, in wood veneer, inlaid in the center of an allegorical scene of love and on her side vases of flowers and fruit. It is based on four tapered legs. It is stamped by Ohneberg received master in 1773. From the time of Louis XVI, it has a marble top breccia Arrabida.
